With the Grain: Wood Sculpture by David Nash

David Nash

Wood Sculpture by David Nash

An exhibition in Lewes Town Hall
5 May - 10 June 2007

David Nash, OBE, RA, is an eminent sculptor who has explored the possibilities of form in wood, trees and the natural environment over the last 35 years. He has produced a significant body of work, examples of which are in collections in Britain and throughout the world.

This exhibition included about 30 major works. They are important pieces which Nash has chosen to keep for himself and they chart his entire career.

The selection demonstrated the many ways in which Nash works with trees. Sculptures are carved in wood, constructed, and sometimes charred.

The exhibition, and integral education projects was organised by Ann Elliott and Paul Myles, directors of Sculpture Exhibitions Limited, who worked directly with the artist.
