Do Something Different in the Middle of the Night…
A contemporary, all night, free arts festival.
Unique in the UK, a “cultural reclaiming of the streets”, attracting over 40,000 participants.
Throughout Brighton & Hove: in cultural venues, cafes, parks, squares, streets, ‘pop up’ spaces and sporting facilities.
A showcase for the arts in Brighton & Hove, a microcosm of the city’s creativity, all in one night.
Brighton & Hove White Night 2011 celebrates ‘Utopias’, with around 50 indoor and outdoor events, all created especially for the night. A framework for venues, artists, programmers and curators to create: new work, new approaches and new audiences.
Brighton & Hove White Night is led by Brighton & Hove Arts Commission.
Partners include the Royal Pavilion; Brighton Dome & Festival; Brighton Libraries; Sealife Centre; Brighton Early Music Festival; Universities of Sussex and Brighton; Lighthouse; Fabrica; Phoenix; Safety in the Community; Infinity Foods Co-operative.
Supported by Brighton & Hove City Council; funded by Interreg IV A France (Channel) England; co-financed by ERDF.
Brighton & Hove White Night is Sister festival to Nuit Blanche Amiens. Inspired by the all night arts festivals in major European cities, particularly Nuits Blanches Paris, Madrid, Brussels & Riga.
